Itala Vega-Regis
Early Childhood Teacher

Mrs. Itala Vega‑Regis serves as an Early Childhood Teacher at St. Catherine Catholic School. Originally from Peru, she has been part of the Highlands County community for more than twenty‑five years. She is happily married and the proud mother of two adult children—both college‑educated professionals who attended St. Catherine Catholic School during their elementary years. Mrs. Vega‑Regis is also a grateful grandmother to a beautiful granddaughter who brings great joy to her life.
Mrs. Vega‑Regis holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and later followed her true vocational calling by specializing in Early Childhood Education. She also holds the Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC) and brings over ten years of experience working with infants, toddlers, and preschool‑aged children. Her strong academic background and hands‑on experience make her a compassionate and highly effective early childhood educator.
Throughout her career, she has taught in both PreK‑3 and PreK‑4 classrooms and is known for creating a structured, nurturing, and faith‑centered learning environment. Mrs. Vega‑Regis believes deeply in the importance of consistent routines, positive guidance, and strong partnerships with families to support each child’s growth and development.
As a Catholic educator, she finds great joy in guiding children both academically and spiritually. She believes that every child is a precious gift from God and feels blessed to support their early learning journey with love, patience, and purpose.
